Thanks to you, teachers have somewhere to turn

26th January 2021

We are so pleased to let you know that our recent Christmas appeal has raised just over £50,000 so far. Your generosity ensured our helpline team was here throughout Christmas and continues be here, as educators increasingly turn to us during these troubling times.

A call to our helpline can be a life-changing moment for many education staff. Sometimes it can even be a life-saving moment, with on average two callers every day having reached the point where they are at risk of suicide.

For education staff like Victoria, a call to us kept her in teaching when she was about to give up a career that she loved.

Victoria says: “I can honestly say that the support I received from the helpline kept me in teaching. Without that first phone call, I’d have left the profession I love so much. I would never have had the strength to see a doctor and take the time off I needed to recover from my breakdown.”

We really do depend on your kindness to continue our vital work, like running our helpline and our grants services.

Thank you so much for everything you do to make sure education staff are not left isolated or without somewhere to turn. Don’t forget our services are available to current and former education staff.

It’s not too late to donate. If you haven’t yet please visit our donation page  or call us on 0207 697 2766.

If you’re struggling for any reason, and would like to talk to us, please call our helpline on 08000 562 561.
