Education Support, Solutions Not Sides and Stand Up! have come together to provide teachers and education staff with a space to consider the impact of this summer’s racist riots on your classrooms and yourselves.
We know that the violence has been, and continues to be, a source of stress and anxiety, either due to direct experiences of racism and violence, or by witnessing it in your communities.
Many of you have also told us you are concerned about managing the heated conversations coming up in classrooms following these riots. It’s important that you feel supported, and we want to provide you with advice and tips that can help make space for constructive conversations that do not fuel further division in your classroom.
Please join our next webinar. We hope this will be a space for connection and reflection where we will:
- Acknowledge and discuss the impact of the riots on education staff and offer support for your wellbeing
- Build confidence and techniques in navigating tough conversations with pupils
Join us at 4pm on Wednesday 16 October to hear fellow educators who understand the importance of building positive, safe and compassionate schools.
We hope you’ll leave our webinar feeling connected to others and supported.
Please sign up now using your school email address.
Please note, this space will be focused solely on discussing how to stay safe and well during the riots and conflict. It won’t be a space for debating the specifics of the conflict, or taking a political stance.
