An interactive, practical workshop providing support and guidance for anyone who manages Learning Support and Teaching Assistants in Wales.

Teaching and learning support assistants play a crucial role in schools. When time to talk is at a minimum it can be their workplace wellbeing that suffers.
This fully-funded workshop offers a practical view on how to create an environment and the opportunities for teaching and learning support assistants to feel heard and understood.
During this interactive session you will:
- Gain an understanding of how to create a psychologically safe environment to encourage open conversations
- Practice how to start and close a conversation about mental health and wellbeing
- Explore and practice listening techniques
- Explore some theory to support positive relationships and promote healthy conversations
Who should attend?
This fully-funded workshop is for school leaders and those with line management responsibilities for teaching assistants or learning support assistants in Wales.
Things you need to know
Please ensure you have a working camera and microphone as this session is interactive and provides space for participants to chat through their thoughts, share best practice and engage in discussions. Having your camera on also helps facilitate a safe space for everyone.
