About us

Welcome to Education Support. We are the only UK charity dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of the entire education workforce. Find out about what we do and how this could help you.

In these unprecedented times we are here for you, the UK’s only charity providing mental health and wellbeing support services to all education staff and organisations. Find out how we are supporting education during the coronavirus epidemic.

Who are we?

We are your charity! As the UK's only charity providing mental health and wellbeing support services to all education staff and organisations, we are here for you.

Established in 1877 as a benevolent fund for teachers, we have been continuously evolving to meet the changing needs of the education sector. Today we are proud to support anyone working in education, at any level and in any institution.

With a record number of educators leaving the profession, we are needed more than ever. Stress and anxiety levels across the sector are reaching alarming levels and calls to our helpline are increasing year on year.

We champion good mental health and wellbeing of teachers, lecturers, school leaders, support staff and prison educators throughout their careers and during retirement as well as supporting education leaders with a wide range of tools to help improve professional and organisational development too.

Vision and Mission

  • Vision
That everyone working in education is respected, supported and resilient.
  • Mission
We give all educators, present and past, access to support services in their workplace and outside. We champion their health and wellbeing, because that is how our education sector will thrive. We recognise each individual as a person as well as a professional.

How we do it

We receive no government grants or funding. We exist thanks to the generosity of our donors and income from our work with organisations. Please donate to help us be there for education staff

Our work is overseen by the Board of Trustees, many of whom have personal experience of education. Our staff are committed to improving the mental health and wellbeing of education staff throughout the UK.
