As a school leader, it was incredibly valuable to have someone empathetic to talk to who really listened. The advisor was easy to talk to, non-judgemental and approachable, and offered a personal, supportive approach. They reassured me that the support I was already offering staff was valid and gave advice on further ways to help them. Having someone kind and knowledgeable to talk things through with made a real difference.

The conversation felt rooted in a true understanding of school life and the pressures we currently face. There was empathy shown towards me and a genuine ability to listen and unpick the needs of our school based on its unique setting. It also helped to know I wasn’t alone and that other schools are facing similar challenges and that there is external support available.

As a school leader, it was incredibly valuable to have someone empathetic to talk to who really listened.

The personal approach and the ability to share concerns I couldn’t discuss with school staff or governors, made the guidance feel both impartial and trustworthy. It was also helpful to receive ideas and resources that were directly relevant to our situation. The advice was quick and efficient, and I felt encouraged and supported throughout the process.

I would recommend signing up to the Wellbeing Advisory Service because the support is personal, practical, and rooted in real school life. Advisors listen without judgement and offer helpful, empathetic advice. Resources are free and tailored to your school’s needs and strategies are easy to implement. It’s reassuring to know you’re not alone.
