Culture Development Service

Our support is fully funded for schools across Wales. It is aimed at improving staff wellbeing, by working with schools to understand, and navigate, the realities of school culture. With our help you can make meaningful change in your school.

We have been working with schools for over 5 years and our insights tells us that some schools have a desire to work with the Advisory Service over a longer period of time, to navigate the changes they want to make to improve their organisational culture.

50%

of education staff tell us that that their organisational culture has a negative impact on their wellbeing

Depending on where you are on your staff wellbeing journey we can work with you to:

  • Increase your understanding of the factors that contribute to your culture.
  • Identify the factors that impact on your culture, both positively and negatively.
  • Support you to identify the factors you have most influence over.
  • Support you to take steps (however small) to make positive changes.

What typical support might look like:

  • Analysis of your most recent staff survey to identify areas of focus related to key elements of culture. If you haven’t done a staff survey in the past 12 months we can provide you with a template and manage the responses.
  • Work with a member of your SLT responsible for staff wellbeing to discuss the findings and work together to determine the key areas of focus
  • Hold a focus group (SLT or a mix of SLT and staff representatives from across your school) to work together on how you want to move things forward
  • Review the findings and meet with you to reflect back what we have found
  • Support you to identify your next steps
  • And, as you take those next steps we could be there to check in and provide support during the implementation process

(support will be unique to each school)

Benefits you might experience:
