Have you seen Steve?
Set in the mid-90s, Steve is a powerful reimagining of Max Porter’s Shy. The film follows a pivotal day in the life of headteacher Steve (Cillian Murphy) at a school, as he struggles with his mental health while striving to support students.
Though set over two decades ago, we know that some of the challenges depicted in this film remain deeply relevant in education today.
Education Support is the only UK charity dedicated to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of teachers and education staff. We've put together below a free toolkit of resources for any teachers, school leaders or education staff affected by the themes explored in this film.
If you work in education and need emotional support, you are not alone. You can call our free and confidential helpline to speak to a trained counsellor, 24/7 on 08000 562 561. Call us. We'll listen.
